Headed over to Austin for Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic this Saturday so I was looking up a few of the artists on the schedule that I'd never heard of. Chris Stapleton being one of those artists.

Holy shite, this dude is great. Probably one of the ones I'm looking forward to seeing the most this weekend.

A good classic country voice. New album is pretty good, should be fun listening to him.

He's good. I've seen him live. I think Sturgill Simpson puts on a better show.

I've been listening to his new album, Traveler, lately and the guy is very good. He's been known more as a songwriter than a singer but all that is changing. I really enjoyed his work with the Steel Drivers.

Found him on youtube. Him and his wife singing you are my sunshine and Amanda. Then listened to the steeldrivers stuff. Can't wait to see him saturday.

Stapleton >>>>> Sturgill IMHO.

Stapleton should've never left The Steeldrivers. They haven't been the same since but his new album is amazing.

Also, I love Sturgill. I just sometimes find him extremely hard to understand during his live performances. He mumbles a lot.
