I would guess that he'll go on around 10:30-11 and play for an hour or so

What's so funny? That's a pretty standard amount of time

He's mostly featuring his 10 songs from In The Throes, which is excellent cover-to-cover.

When I saw him at Other Bar in Nola a few months ago, he played about that amount of time. About 8 songs from that record, a cover or two and you've got about an hour.

Believe me, the 6-8 bucks is well worth it...show leaves you wanting more, and doesn't let you down.

ETA: Hoping to catch Friday's show in NO, but a few of us are catching Krewe d'Etat/Hermes and then riding in Endymion the next day.

Cancel whatever other plans you have and go see John.

Holy. shite.

One of the best shows I've ever seen. He actually brought me to tears with "Break My Heart Sweetly" (and that has only ever happened ONE other time in a zillion concerts, and it was Sean McConnell playing Reckless Love 10 feet from my face).

Could have heard a pin drop. It was just awesome.

Fullbright still has my heart but Moreland left me speechless.

Jodi James sang that one with him on the patio of my and water back in September. I think everyone got a little dusty eyed during it

What did you think of Chris Porter?

saw him at other bar in NOLA w/ John and Caleb.. He's a good storyteller.. I don't think anyone is writing on John's level right now though.

I am in no way comparing him or anyone else to John.

I saw Porter a month or so ago and have been telling Boogie to check him out ever since. Which she never does when I tell her to

I'm just curious as to what she thought of him

I liked him. He reminded me of BJ from AA in a lot of ways.

Nice guy. Got to chat with both him and John a little bit after the show.

I was driving so I was remarkably well-behaved. Limited myself to 2 Jamies.
