If your sole point is that the Varsity needs to book more bands, then whatever.
But then you listed a ton of acts that will do really well at the Varsity (no matter if you like them or not) and you lost me.
60-65% of what is booked from now until almost mid January isn't even musical acts. That is a problem, if you're a "music venue", especially in a town that brags about it's "musical heritage".

Soccer games are in the mornings so you can't really count those

Exactly. Also, the LSU game watch parties make an absurd amount of money for that place. I've watched three games there this year and it was ridiculously packed and fun.

Varsity is hands down the best place to watch a game
$10 all you can drink draft and a 30ft hd projection screen

Went for the TCU and Florida games and can attest to the fact that $10 all you can drink from the Varsity mugs will get you super fricked up

Im sure the owners care about making $ more than baton rouge's "musical heritage".

It's ridiculous. It's a great deal. Best in town that I've found.

Varsity booked Flogging Molly twice and I didn't have to drive to the overpriced HOB.. all other bookings are forgiven.

My gripe is the amount of non musical acts that they have booked.
Got to keep the lights on and keep people working there.

I am not a fan of the Varsity at all, but this is a stupid argument. Why wouldn't they take advantage of a projection screen? Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

I like that it's non smoking in there as well
