Nice lineup.

North Mississippi Osborne on that Thursday night in Baton Rouge and then down to New Orleans for two nights of good music and pork!

I have never been to this. How are the lines for food and drinks? Is the Boss Hog ticket worth the price?

Drink lines are a little rough, but bearable. Food lines aren't really bad at all. Last year was just the right amount of people. That may change in a couple years when this explodes and becomes too big.

Uh, no. The drink lines last year were fricking awful. A bunch of senior citizens as bartenders and confusion about tickets led to extremely long lines. Definitely an area that needs improvement.

I was there all day and that wasn't the case for the entire event. There was a rush all at once that sucked for a couple hours. I'd just buy a Hopitoulas and an Irish Channel Stout at the same time. Drink the Hop first and stick the ICS in my pocket.

Yes, I think it conflicted with an event in BR last year.

Heady is correct. The lines, especially early in day, were awful and there was a lot of confusion.

We are doing a couple things differently this year.

First, we tested a wooden nickel system in Charleston and it worked very well. So all food and drink can be purchased with wooden nickels and bars will also accept cash. That ought to alleviate a lot of the confusion.

More bars (with bars separated by what they sell so a beer bar will be next to vodka lemonade, etc...) and more booths selling wooden nickel Hoggy dollars will help as well.

The PassPork (another thing we tested Charleston) will let an attendee purchase admission for two days and when they walk through the gate (with a dedicated entry) the first time, we will hand them a stack of Hoggy Dollars worth $45. So that will be an expedient way to get in the gate fast with money in your hand to buy a beer or pork sandwich.

Boss Hog gets a private open bar, private restrooms, and private stage viewing area as well as $45 in Hoggy Dollars.

Growing pains last year (and the 5 inches of rain) were big problems, but we have really thought about solutions. Thanks for your patience as we try and get it right.

I've never heard of these people but it seems like the promoter does a good job mixing jam/indie/folk into the lineup
