Despite my best efforts I am getting really excited. I've been listening to Stevie all week and really can't wait to see him. Everything else is icing on the cake for me.

Been listening to the slacker hangout station all week, some really good stuff on there. But has electronic music always sucked this much or am I just getting old?

I don't know if it has always sucked quite this much. fricking Skrillex disciples ruing the airways.
There are a few electro people that I think bring something unique to the game, but in general it sucks my middle nut.
I am wondering if I should check out Bassnectar this weekend. Some of my friends really like him, but they also like a lot of terrible, terrible shite. I know he did that lights remix but that is all I have ever heard of his.

Bassnectar is the only electro show I'll pay to go see...maybe Pretty Lights again at Red Rocks, but that's only because it's Red Rocks.

I guess they don't count as electro in todays sense of the word, but Ghostland is the DD tits. They are who got me to even consider listening to some of the stuff they put out nowadays.
I'll check out Bassnectar I'm sure. But I have seen Avicii and enjoyed his sound, although his high energy refrains usually sounds pretty similar. Deadmau5 at voodoo in 2010 was really cool. I can handle good electronic in doses. Like at a festival see one act a day, maybe two on one day. Hopefully those sets will be after 11:00 though. I also saw crookers one time and enjoyed it, and crystal method did a DJ set at voodoo that was really good as well.
As long as it in no way shape or form sounds like that cumdumpster skrillex. Not of fan of pretty lights either. And I honestly don't mind skrillex up until the point in the song where he does whatever fricking wobble scratching noise he does. It sounds like 1000 steel toed rakes being drawn across a blackboard.

I chuckled, then thought about it, then got really disgusted with myself because I probably would too. That place has been on my bucketlist for awhile now.
Sidenote, is anyone getting any fricking work done today? All I've accomplished is looking up shins setlists for the past year and figuring out some shopping I gotta do before tomorrow morning.

I go to red rocks all the time. Even for film on the rocks. It's an amazing and special place for a show, no doubt. The best shows that you don't want to miss are when the artists are recording for DVD.
