Father's Day Question...

I heard this on the radio this morning and thought I would ask it here. What songs remind you of your Dad when you hear them, and why? Mine would include:
"Last Dance" - Floyd Cramer: Dad had a Floyd Cramer 8-track, and I can't tell you how many times I heard it when we would go on trips...I couldn't stand it. Now, every time I hear it, I'm an 8-year old riding with my brothers in the back of an old Chrysler.
"The Pilgrim - Chapter 33" - Kris Kristofferson: The 8-track again...but I loved that song from the first time I heard it. "Jesus Was a Capricorn", "To Beat the Devil", "Devaliar's Dream"...those were some great songs. I can picture my dad singing at the top of his lungs driving our old Ford Bronco. Along with the song breaks when the tape would go from one track to the next.
"The Battle of New Orleans" - Tommy Horton: Dad loved this song, and would sing it A Capella on our annual trips to Florida with the windows down...
I hope that my kids look back on their childhood with music that reminds them of me when they are older.
What do you guys have?

Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel or any Van Halen song.. Still trying to relive his glory days in the early 1980's.

Golden Slumbers from Abbey Road. My dad used to sing that to me when I was a baby to get me to sleep and it worked.
Every Bob Dylan song ever because my dad is Dylansessed...he and my uncle wrote down Dylan lyrics and put them on my grandma's refrigerator when they were kids.

Sweet Child of Mine - GNR
That was HIS song for sure. Still nails me at unexpected moments and makes me tear up (RIP)

Anything by Chicago (the older the better), Blood, Sweat and Tears, Doobie Brothers and Three Dog Night.
He loved all that stuff.

My Dad sang and played guitar so a lot of songs remind me of him. Probably the song people requested for him to sing the most when I was young was "Crystal Chandeliers" ....the version by Carl Belew rather than the version Charlie Pride made a hit.

Pretty much anything by The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
Dad also listened to a lot of classical music, and though I'm nowhere near as versed as he was and can't name many of the ones he listened to, I can name Night On Bald Mountain.

Lost my dad 13 years ago so most of the songs that stick out to me are ones that I just recall him liking a lot whenever we'd hear them together.
In the summertime - mungo jerry. I think he liked those funny background noises they make with their mouth
the second half of Abbey road. When Napster was brand new I was either in middle school or early high school so although I kinda knew how to use it my parents were flabbergasted. Once they saw the feds wouldn't raid us for downloading songs those couple on the back half were the first ones he asked me to download for him.
rings - cimmaron. I think that's the song, and I think that's the artist. I've never heard anyone else in my life even mention or reference it before. But again, napster..that was one that he really wanted to get onto a CD.
midnight at the oasis- maria muldour. See above
clapton- wonderful tonight. Sure he liked that for something related to my mom.
Me and my dad never really had "A song" that we liked together, but those above always instantly make me think of him.

My dad was part of the Greatest Generation and a WWII vet. He loved him some big band swing and taught us to love it too.
In The Mood - Glenn Miller Orchestra

My Dad loved the Hag, 40's/50's pop songs, and so-called 'Swamp pop' (we're originally from Lafayette).
Every now and then I'd turn him on to something I liked. I remember being in my bedroom once, playing some Joe Ely. When I came out, my Dad said "Who was that you were listening to?". I told him, and he said "Make me a copy of that".

My Dad died in April of last year. While the whole family was piled in his hospital room, we kept a steady loop of Eagles tunes going for him, because they were his favorite band.
"Take It Easy" was one of his most favorite songs...

My dad had one son. I have one son. I can't hear The Walk without thinking of him and tearing up a bit.
