I don't know if it's only on Apple Music or what but it's amazing.

Nothing complicated. Just good music. It reminds me of his early days.

I hate it when people say an album dropped or a lineup is dropping

release, announced are all perfectly fine words

ERIC CHURCH=HORRIBLE MUSIC
He plays C-Rap!!!!!!! He needs to be labeled under pop music and not country!

Listening to it right now. I liked his last album, though not as much as his first 2.

I watched him on the CMA's last night. That's the first time I've really heard anything by him. That song he played wasn't what I'd call country music, but opinions may vary.

"Record Year" is probably my favorite song so far. Reminds me of "Over When It's Over" from Chief.

Overall pretty good album, not sure how many will get released as singles or played on the radio. Def nothing on there I'd describe as Bro Country.

I thought the Mr. Misunderstood song he played last night was OK. I did a double take when he name dropped Jeff Tweedy.

Was about to post on here. This album isn't as heavy as Outsiders, but has the emotion of Carolina. Good stuff.

"Record Year" is vintage Church and should be a hit... love the references to New Grass Revival and others

I really enjoy the duet with Susan Tedeschi, "Mixed Drinks About Feelings"

I think "Knives of New Orleans" is the hidden gem

No drum machines. No rap. No obvious vocal effects (autotune style) of any kind. Just real music played by real instruments. I'm loving it.

Robert Randolph in the background. One of the coolest dudes I've met.

Church seems like fake, wannabe outlaw country to me. Like Sturgill Simpson is the real fricking deal. He's a badass without even trying to be. Church is trying to be a badass.

I got that impression as well watching his CMA performance the other night.

Church is the only person played on top country radio that I actually like. He is not the same as Luke Bryan and company.

I can see that to an extent. But the dude writes most of his songs and I think that makes him authentic compared to others. He wrote this last album in 30 days and released it out of nowhere. No build up, no pre-order, nothing. To me that's pretty badass.

With guys like Jason Alden, Brantly Gilbert, etc floating around Eric Church doesn't come across as fake in comparison.

I like Eric Church and view him to be authentic, especially when compared to the Bryan's, Aldean's, Fla-Ga line, Sam Hunt's, etc of the current country lineup. He just isnt to the same level of authenticity as Johnson, Stapelton or Simpson.

Unfortunately, (and hope to be wrong), but think he hit his career zenith with the Chief album. Downhill from that point. I liked only parts of The Outsiders and even less of Mr Misunderstood (at least what I heard in sampling it).
