Yes, I have about 10 Futurebirds shirts that are too small for me.

Not anymore. I'm not paying $40+ for a tshirt.

Ive started collecting posters from shows, so yes.
Im not some nerd that goes in as soon as the doors open to get a poster, I hate dealing with it during the show.
If I like the poster and they arent sold out as im leaving, I’ll grab one.

Sure. Met quite a few band members hocking their stuff at the merch table.

Not really. Already paying too much for tickets

I do. I like a good band t shirt.
Back in the late 90s or early 2000s, I worked selling merchandise for NSync when they performed at the superdome.
My table made something like $30,000 that night. And it was one of 15 or so tables.

for years i bought a shirt at every concert i attended. at one point i had an entire wall of my bedroom covered with concert t-shirts.
I think the last one i bout was a Kiss shirt that had this news article by some guy who said they would never last. That was 2000.
ETA: can't find a pic of the shirt but, it was this article.

Yes, especially for bands playing at smaller venues. Especially bands that aren't mainstream. I'm a sucker for a soft tshirt and I know merch sales go directly to the bands.
Now when I go see bands like Tool, absolutely not. Everything is overpriced already and they are already wealthy.
The Ocean at the Siberia Club? Yeah, I'll buy several things from them directly, plus shirts are usually $20-25.
Looking forward to seeing All Them Witches at Chelsea's in May. Will definitely hit that merch table.

If the wife buys a tshirt she is never going to wear, I know the night is a success.

I always check out the table, but I don’t always buy something. I’m pretty cost-conscious, so expensive merch is typically a no-no. I try to buy things from local or small touring bands if I like them. I usually buy shirts or cds or maybe a weird novelty item if they have one.

I like to see what kind of shirts they have

Fans of Metal buy the most shirts. I always check out the table & about 50% of the time end up buying something.
Instagram has page called Merch Reporters Unite where people who go to shows post up close pictures of the merch table. It’s a good way to get a preview of what they have before you go to help you decide if you want to buy anything. But yes, the prices are outrageous now.

Rockabilia has licensed shirts etc and some are always on sale. Eddie Killers t-shirt for $9.99 right now in fact.

If you're not, you really should. Especially smaller venue bands. No one is making much on album sales anymore, so buying a shirt or even just a sticker/patch helps a lot.
Like the post said earlier, also a good chance to chat with band as well.
