Do you respect people who enjoy EDM?

I'm not talking about people who have a few songs on a workout playlist or see a show to kill some time at a festival, I'm talking someone who voluntarily go to a concert to see someone press play on a computer and turn a few knobs, and EDM is all they listen to. Some kid tried to tell me Dead Mau Five and Skrillex were more talented them Mumford and Sons. I just shook my head and walked away.
Also, I am very aware drugs enhance the concert experience.

"EDM" as you probably define it, like Tiesto and Skrillex and all that teeny bopper commercial Ultra Fest shite is garbage, I'm with you on that one OP
Electronic music is awesome though. Just not that shite.

Just curious. Why the hate for Mumford and Sons? Do you think they don't play their instruments well? Or is it that you don't like that style of music? They became too popular?

Hmmm, that's interesting. I used to play music (got busy with life), so I know a couple of instruments pretty well. My record collection is diverse . . . everything from rock to country to jazz to bluegrass to r & b to a touch of classical . . . as long as there's talent and it pleases the ear.
So, again, I ask the question.

There is definite talent to "EDM." The talent lies withing their creative orchestration, but they are not talented musicians. Some are though (Moby for instance), but EDM is defined by its orchestration.

Much like with any genre of music there is a commercialized scene and an underground scene where the actual talent lies. House music is where it all stems from and its a very legitimate form of music with incredibly talented musicians.
