Thats a big part of what makes them boring. Their albums have a lot of subtlety and nuance. That all gets destroyed by the volume of their live shows. I've seen them twice. First time in circa 1991 and the second in 2005. Both times it was an ok show....and I love those early albums.

Hey I’m coming in town tomorrow night and will probably be a last minute decision on going (family shite). Any thoughts on if this will be a sellout?

It's a great live rock n roll show. Something that is rare these days. Go.

It's a strange thing. They have a loud bombastic sound and play through big amps so it maybe seems louder than it actually is. My brother immediately popped ear plugs in and said he thought it sounded better that way. None of the rest of us did that and I didn't see any wincing about it. My wife and I both noted that our ears were not ringing afterwards. Not like the last time the Cult played there.

I think there are certain damaging frequencies that they somehow manage to mix out of their sound. It sounded fantastic to me.

Yeah, it sounded great. The only time I noticed the loudness is when I went to talk to somebody. No ringing ears, etc.
