Anybody in for these 2 or either?

Planning to make both. Dinosaur Jr not really my cup o' tea, but I've heard they are LOUD. Loud is good. Anybody ever hear them live? Reviews?

Saw them at The Varsity nearly 10 years ago, right before they released Farm. Was an awesome show.

I was at the last Dinosaur Jr show there. They weren't any louder than any other band. Obituary was awesome when I saw them earlier this year. Should be another good show.

Yeah, I caught Obituary and Cannibal Corpse at The Varsity last year I believe it was. Huge Obituary fan; that was a great bill.

I was just curious if Dinosaur Jr. were gonna literally blow my ear drums if I didn't wear ear plugs, based on what I read online. Been to a ton of metal shows through the years and most on the floor, so wasn't quite sure what to expect.

Wand Thursday, Dino Friday, Obituary Sunday.

Eyehategod & Crowbar 10/31 to tie it all together in a nice neat package that started with Gizzard. Hell of a month for music in Louisiana

Hell yeah!

Gonna miss EHG/Crowbar Halloween night, but damn that should be a good one.

Can throw Superjoint/King Parrot in that same vein also a couple weeks ago. Great show!

There are a bunch of rock shows in New Orleans this weekend though none interest me.

bullshite. I've seen alot of bands at the varsity up close next to the speakers and DJ was the loudest I've ever seen.

This is the impression I'm getting upon watching some of their shows online. Seem kinda jam-bandish which bores the frick outta me.

Bummer that Exodus and Power Trip aren't on the bill with Obituary there. I saw the tour when it came through Joliet IL and it was amazing. Dust Bolt is good though if you like old school thrash.

Just bring ear plugs if you are worried. They do play very loud.

I've seen them 4 times and it's a little inconsistent on the volume. The last Varsity show was not particularly loud, kind of Goldilocks level (just right). But they were ear-splittingly loud at Lollapalooza '93. I don't know what the mitigating aspect is there. Maybe Mascis's mood during sound check? Who knows.

I brought ear plugs last time and didn't use them. I'll probably do that again this time.

If I could go back in time, I'd wear plugs to every concert.
