Great to see them back with a new album. And a pretty strong one at that.
Curious why they haven't seen the success of a Lucero or Glossary. Def don't put them on DBT levels.

I used to see them play in Tuscaloosa back in the late 90's when they were brand new and still an awesomely raw garage punk band. Fast forward a few years and I hadn't heard anything from them in a while when I stumbled across one of their albums in a record shop (back when those were things). I didn't even know they'd ever released an album, so I excitedly picked it up and prepared myself for a fast, angry listen. What the album actually sounded like was nothing like I remembered or expected. Almost an alt-country sound. Clearly they had evolved, and not in the way I would have wanted. I was very, very disappointed.
Now, they may be the best alt-country band that there has ever been. I just don't think I'll ever be able to listen to them and not find myself wishing they were still the young, angry punks that I enjoyed listening to back when I was the same.

in band fighting (with the former member) and a lack of touring. not to mention matt became the DBT's bassist, the other guitarist doing 13 ghosts, and lee went off to do his own thing with his band.
they were always such a bad arse band to go see live. one of the loudest bands i've ever heard.

I need to check out the new album. Can I stream it somewhere? One of my favorite bands.

A little late to this group but liking what I'm hearing on the new album. Where's a good starting point?

Honestly, everyone of their albums are really good.
I'd suggest either Hardwire Healing, or Lost and Found for you next. Their first two albums(S/T, and Red Dust Rising) more "loud" with elements of punk. They are great too. Singlewide is more folky and chill, but still very good. Sunsphere(EP) is fricking rocking as well. Sounds more like their first two.
Listening to the new one now... Another solid effort, I love 'Alabam Redneck". Four songs in on a shuffle right now.
