Was looking at tickets on ticketmaster for Cody Johnson. WTF is verified resale? And why are they 6x more expensive than tickets in the same location?

Looking at concert tickets makes me sick.

They have really gotten out of control. Ticketmaster controls almost everything.

I just don't know how the hell middle to lower class people are affording concerts today.

I'm not paying these prices for the best artists out there. These mid-tier names and costing $600 for 2 tickets in decent seats are insane.

Ticketmaster is a sad and disgusting deterrent for going to concerts these days

Simple. They just put it on their credit cards and forget about it.

Regarding the OP:

Verified ReSale are people scalping their tickets through ticketmaster. The sad thing is that many people actually throw down big bucks for these.

Because too many people are willing to pay those prices, unfortunately, which jacks it up for everyone else.

I have no idea what the original price for 2nd balcony tickets to see Adele in Las Vegas was. I do know that 2nd balcony tickets to see Adele in Las Vegas are now running at about $1100-1200 not including fees on StubHub.

They're the lever that drives this "gray market". If anything with a pulse goes on sale, scalper-bots buy everything up immediately and then the face price quadruples or more. Lobbyist driven politics isn't going to break up big money, though, so Ticketmaster will continue to be a problem. Luckily, I guess, there's less and less worth paying for a ticket to.

I bought a regular on sale ticket for $65 plus fees lower level to see Pantera and Lamb of God for this Friday in Nashville. I know Ticketmaster and Live Nation have this monopoly on tickets, but I’ve never had an issue.

A Static-X, Sevendust and Dope show I was at that got cancelled I got a full refund through their subsidiary TicketWeb. I think the prices are based on the high profile artist it is. I’d like to see Metallica, but their tour prices are ridiculous.

To answer the OP question, they are an individual or broker that has purchased the tickets at regular price and then has put them back up for sale at a much higher price.

TM allows them to list them and then takes a percentage.

They are having a Brooks and Dunn concert at the Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas.

I was looking at the general admission ticket prices and decided to pass.

I just paid $70 for a $58 ticket. $12 in "fees" from ticketbastard. I haven't had to buy thru them in ages, fortunately.

I don’t know if it’s the same on ticketmaster but one time I bought a ticket on livenation.com and something came up where I couldn’t go. It wasn’t a sell out so I really just wanted some money back. I tried to resale it UNDER face value and they wouldn’t let me. I tried to resale AT face value and it wouldn’t let me. The price they would allow me to resale ended up being crazy. I put it on stubhub no problem.

This has really upset me before. Had a last minute change. They even restricted other sites (restricted forwarding). Had to eat the price as I couldn’t sell it above face on Ticketmaster with face value tix available…

Then to get back on topic- I miss the “screw it, I barely know them but I’m not doing anything better $30 nosebleeds” for arena tours. I’d go to all kinds of stuff that wasn’t my traditional cup of tea and became fans of new genres etc…

Now a lot of even mid tier tours rival a weekend getaway in cost and it’s hard to justify 15 songs vs a couple of day trip

If you really want to know how untouchable Ticketmaster is, just look back at that shite they pulled to settle that class action suit where they not only "compensated" participants with z-grade show tickets but also made them impossible to claim as an extra frick you. The execs and attorneys had to have been laughing their asses off.

I'm bumping this thread. I'm convinced these verified resales are just ticketmaster bots. One ticket sold at an ok price in each section.... rest are 4x more expensive.

Verified resale is a scam.

You’re on the right track. No need for bots. It’s mainly just Ticketmaster themselves holding back tons of premium and decent tickets and listing them as verified resale.

Drive By Truckers is playing their Southern Rock Opera in its entirety this fall in New Orleans (plus other songs I'm sure).

Tickets at the Civic are $135.00. With taxes and fees it's $175.00.

As a matter of principle alone, frick that. Hard pass.

I paid $96 total for two GA tickets through DBT's ticket request?
