John Mayer's Live in LA has some fantastic guitar playing. Especially during the Trio bit. Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan also kill it.

Yeah - probably your default GOAT and industry standard.

In the broader category of "Rock Documentaries" - I would also suggest Don't Look Back (1967) and Gimme Shelter (1970).

Stop Making Sense (the Talking Heads) - is good, but you kind of have to like their music to really enjoy it.

Monterey Pop and Woodstock have to be up there.

Pink Floyd live at the Pompeii and The Song Remains the Same (if only for the definitive live version of Stairway - but the rest of the film is highly interesting and relevant to Zeppelin fans and students of 1970s music, generally).

The Kids are Alright (1979)

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1973)

And, although fictionalized, Purple Rain (1984) deserves consideration here.

Another good one - I do recommend "History of the Eagles" for fans of the band - it will make you think about the Henley/Frey war with Felder, regardless of which side you're on.
