Picked up some vinyl Cars albums, remastered by Ric Ocasek in 2016 (R.I.P.). Heartbeat City and Shake It Up. Gotta be one of my favorite bands and just easy to listen to with so many great songs.

Since You're Gone and Tonight She Comes are a couple of covers my band plays from time to time.

Funny I never got into them when they were putting out hits but really enjoy them now. “Drive” is a great song.

Two of my most fav songs of theirs. Saw them in Houston many years ago. So many great songs and enjoy listening to them, especially in the summer when doing projects at home.

Drive

Love it. Paulina Porizkova and the band member who doesn’t get nearly the recognition he deserves, Benjamin Orr.

Speaking of recognition, Elliot Easton doesn't get enough recognition for his many incredible guitar solos:

Played drums, some keyboards and guitar as well as bass and his incredible voice.

I've posted this obscure, early Cars tune before but will again for those who might enjoy it:

Strawberry Moonlight
(incredible guitar solo)
They took a lot of criticism for their "boring" live performances, I disagree:

They were all talented guys. The drummer, though, after they broke in 87' he went into business and forgot how to play drums so when they reunited later on he had to learn again.

Drummer is the hardest spot in a band to fill, guitarist are a dime a dozen and plenty of people can sing half way decent...good drummers are rare because there's so few the good ones are usually taken.

Robinson was probably the least talented in the group, not knocking him. Easton and Hawkes were both
Berklee Music grads, and Hawkes plays at least 5 instruments and Ocasek was a pop hit writing machine. So much talent in that band.

There isn't much of any way to describe their first two albums other than perfect.

I think they actually had to "draw" on clothing on that Vargas to be able to use it as the cover.

Personal favorite album is Panorama.

Solo stuff in my vinyl collection include Greg Hawkes' Niagra Falls, Elliot Easton's Change No Change, and of course Beatitude by Ric Ocasek.

Sadly, on Heartbeat City, David Robinson did not play drums at all because of all the umm...technological advancements at the time. They only used "drum machines"

Saw them live twice.
