I didn't see it until today, but they announced a lot more dates for their upcoming tour, in which they will play IMO their best album in its entirety.
It also looks like they are back to a 4-piece band, which is great news!

Looking forward to it. That is one massive tour.

I know! They are barely taking any days off between shows. Hope they don't get too burnt out.

this was the biggest thing I wanted to know. Hell yes. The only time I've seen them was 3 and they were a bit limited on what they could play. A 4-piece KILAS tour...I've gotta go.
It is a bit concerning they're playing 10 days in a row with Atlanta being on the backend of that stretch. I hope they can bring the energy at that point.
Also as someone who is very much a concert novice and doesn't go to a ton...do you think both atl shows will be the same level of "goodness" (brain can't think of a better word at the moment). What I mean is, in general when a band plays a venue 2 nights in a row is there one night that is typically the better of the 2 shows

I’ll be throwing elbows in the pit during the outro of I Would Hurt a Fly

I don’t know. You are kinda rolling the dice since they are playing the same set list (mostly) every night. They may be better rested the 2nd night since they didn’t have to travel.
The crowd could be better the first night. I wouldn’t put a whole lot of thought into it.

I am pretty disappointed as I will miss their local show. Will be traveling for work on that date.

I’ll be at the NO show. Saw them for the first time a couple years ago as a 3 piece.

I saw Built to Spill at the Varsity a few years ago and came away thinking that I had never seen a band have less fun on stage.
They sounded great though

Yup. I was there and thought the same thing too. After watching a few live shows online since then, I think that’s normal for them.

Yep....Doug Marsch is a miserable sob and it translates through the entire band.....hence why some of them left a few years ago. I've seen them six times and always am amazed how a band that sounds so great seems to not have any fun.

I think I'm going to see them the second night in Chicago (7/6)
I caught them a few times in the 90s, but this may be the first time since this record came out.. maybe once or so in the 2000s, can't remember..

I would really like to see them one of their Atlanta dates but am a bit concerened about the playlist. Full disclosure: I'm the BTS equivalent of a pumpin spice late drinking basic bitch, in the fact that I really only care for KILAS and PFNO. So sue me. Anyways...this is the "keep it like a secret tour" so I would certainly assume they'd be playing the album. Looking at the set list website I do see that pretty regularly, but their most recent show from last night (Still part of the KILAS tour) had 15 songs with only 1 from KILAS and 3 from PFNO.
I do see it was in portugal..does that have anything to do with anything?

Most articles I’ve read have the tour kicking off on 6/22 in Missoula, MT (that’s what the OP has too). I feel pretty sure shows starting then will have KILAS in its entirety. I do see what you are saying where setlist.com has these Portugal shows as part of the tour, but I don’t think they really are.

We are stoked to see all the excitement about the KILAS 20th anniversary tour! Thank you to any and all who have listened. To celebrate we will be playing the album in it's entirety!
I'm also stoked about them having an extra guitarist. It's needed to give this album justice.

It's because he doesn't eat meat.

if you go to youtube right now and watch the most recent live videos of Built to Spill, you may be very dissapointed. I am a big fan but after watching these videos, i have no interest in going. The new band has zero chemistry with Doug and seem to be still learning the songs. Doug himself looks so unenthused.

That's the way they and Doug have always looked. See the previous discussion in this thread. But they have always sounded great live the 5 times I've seen them including the 3 piece a couple of years ago.

I too was impressed with what they were able to do as a 3 piece. Still, the band needs at least 4.
