Just saw Blink, a day to remember, and All American rejects outside of Houston. It was absolutely incredible. Blink 182 is having fun again, matt skiba is a really great fit and is probably better live than Tom DELONGE.A Day to remember was great as well. What a great lineup. I've been a blink fan since I was 10~ and the wait to finally see them live was totally worth it.

Skiba is great live, definitely better than Tom DeLonge when it comes to performing live.
The show looks really good from what I've watched, happy for Blink, selling out major arenas like the Pepsi Center, Staples Center, etc again with a #1 album like it's 2005 again.
I was afraid the Tom fiasco would lead to a mediocre album and Blink would fade away with limited success. Exact opposite.

If I wasn't seeing Guns N Roses tonight, I would have went to this.

Aside from their incredible drummer, I never understood why this band was considered good....just my opinion.

How was the banter between Mark and Skiba on stage? With Travis being so quiet, Mark needs that second person to interact with otherwise he would be talking to himself on stage.

It was pretty smooth it seemed like they had a natural connection and we're pretty funny. They did some cool stuff, for 1 song Travis played bass guitar, skiba on the drums, and Hoppus on the guitar.

That's pretty wild. Didn't even know Travis played bass. What song?

One of their joke songs called "the blow job song" it's a little over a minute long. Skiba on the drums was pretty impressive

I was dying to see them when I was in middle school and high school. They came to Dallas and I BEGGED to go but mom wouldn't let me.
Went to see them in 2011 and Tom was horrible. I don't even like My Chemical Romance but they put on a great show opening. Blink wasn't terrible but while Mark and Travis were having fun and playing up the crowd, Tom just sorta sat there going through the motions and being a dipshit.

I tried for a while in my youth to stay away from blink, as they seemed to cater to all the girls in high school and guys were listening to limp bizkit and rap.... But by senior year (1999) I gave in and became a blink fan because they made really fun music

Saw them in Atlanta last night and it was absolutely incredible.
Skiba killed it and I prefer him over Tom any day (I'm a bit biased though as Alkaline Trio is tGOAT)
I find it interesting that Skiba almost tried to sound like Tom on the cd, however live he sounded like he was singing on the self titled or Maybe I'll Catch Fire again.
Just an absolutely amazing show.

Love blink and like the new stuff, but I'm also a big fan of toms style and voice. I really like angels and airwaves too
Sucks it couldn't work out but apparently he's a nut job

Skiba being active in music again makes me wish alkaline trio was still around.
A band that is infinitely better than blink 182.
Goddammit, maybe I'll catch fire, from here to infirmary, and good mourning are all modern classics in the alt rock, punk rock, pop punk genre. Alkaline trio always had a dark sense of self depreciating humor that set them apart from other bands in the late 90's, early and mid 2000's. Lyrically I don't think there is/was a better lyricist in rock music from 1998-2006 or so. Maybe Isaac Brock from modest mouse.

I loved angels and airwaves too but the new album combined with how fun and awesome the concert was I think Blink 182 made the right decision.

Alkaline trio just released an album last year. They are still around. On pause while he is with blink but sill continue to make music.
Edit. Dang. My shame is true is almost 3 years old.

Skiba is better than Tom. Blink 182 is better with Skiba than with Tom, but without Tom, it's not Blink 182. It's like going to see Lynard Skynard in concert today. It's not even remotely the same band.

I was there too!
I'd post a photo from during Feeling This but the admins would not like.
