I'd have to say Heartbreaker. Love is Hell comes in a close second.

I'm probably in the minority but my favorite is Cold Roses with Heartbreaker coming in second.

Heartbreaker solo... but his best is Stranger's Almanac when he was in Whiskeytown..
edit: Dont sleep on Gold either, it is a bit of a show off album, but very enjoyable..

Cold Roses was his creative high water mark. You can make a pretty damn strong 30-40 song best of compilation from all his releases though.

I've seen him live 10 times with The Cardinals and it was always a bad arse live experience. Always wished they came out with a love album.
