Yeahs. They are probably too heady for this board though.
yes enlighten us. Tell us how Sunny Day Real Estate, at the drive in, Arcade Fire, and QOTSA are the best bands on the past 25 years and we just don't get it.

They are the only bands I can think of that remained on top of their game throughout.
Alice In Chains has constantly put out stellar material that takes a TON more musicianship to produce. Their last two albums without Staley were fantastic. Very heavy, very high production value, incredible lyrical content, riffs, harmonies, incredible EQ'ing on the drum kit, and great songs all around.

Same here, but not in the conversation of best band in last 25 years. They don't fill the spectrum. When you think of a band like STP from "Plush" to "Days of the week" and every thing in between, or Foo's "this is a call" to "rope", that's just a big chuck of music to overcome.

not really. not for me it isn't anyways. not a big STP/foo fan though.

Bigger STP than Foo's, but I don't really cling to one or other. They just have the most diverse catalog with accolades to match IMO

Audioslave (that first album was so incredible)
I agree with this - of course being classified as a supergroup probably amps up expectations, but that's as good a debut album as anyone, on par with Led Zeppelin I and Boston Boston. Still listen to it in its entirety, on occasion.
It was my workout tape in Iraq.

That doesnt change that fact that his playing is on the level of a 1st year student of mine.

Tool hasn't released a new album since 2006...
If this was talking about 1990-2005, you'd have an argument for Tool.
