It is very solid... that was the year the light bulb went off for me with music. I was 9 years old...remember getting a TV in my bedroom for Xmas and watching Green Days "When I Come Around" video.

I just personally am fond of 1997

Must just not be my kind of stuff, but '97 looks to be the worst year I've ever seen. Pre-2000 anyway.

It was also the year it all clicked for me. I already liked stuff like Green Day, soundgarden, nirvana, nin, korn, deftones, white zombie, etc but just in passing.

But the Paranoid Android video made my buy OK Computer in 97. And my best friend at the time also discovered it on his own. It forever altered my preference to the more "alternative" of alternative of music if you will. It's one of the favorite vinyls in my collection.

Yeah, I just looked at the list and there is some utter shite on it.

The top 3-5 is very strong though.

OK Computer is one of the most beloved albums on this board.

1994 is a good year, no question about it.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Hope I didn't come across as shitting on your choice. Music is too subjective for their to be a unanimous choice to the question. I just think 97 is very top heavy. Some great albums, but some downright awful ones. Some of the worst of the 90's, IMO.

Yea, thanks I'll add those to the list...I know unplugged was in 93 but they released it after his death in 94 so it's technically a 94 release.

I can't believe I overlooked that many, but I'd put 1994 up agaist any year, even 69-70
