give me a single year. And list them so we can discuss. I mean if you are going to reply to this thread can you actually post something we can discuss?

I have a vinyl collection and enjoy classic music...but that list is hard to top on sales and diversity alone (60-70s doesnt have rap in it's prime form: beaties, nas, 2pac, BIG, outkast)

Don't feel like looking up a list, but 3 of my all time favorite albums were released in 97.

Built To Spill - Perfect From Now On
Radiohead - OK Computer
Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West

Off hand, I know Erykah Badu - Baduizm, Foo Fighters - The Colour & the Shape were also released.

Probably doesn't stack up to 94 though.

Same here. It may not be the deepest year, but I would take that top 3 against the top 3 from any other year. Or top 5, if I expand it to include Yo La Tengo and Elliot Smith.

SO far I think only 1970 is comparable.

All these are good years though, 1990-1991 are pretty solid.
