As I stated earlier in this thread, my absolute minimum to build an entire audio system including analog (receiver/integrated amp, speakers, turntable, phono pre, and cables) is around $1400.
A moderate amp is around $500, decent speakers begin around $550, and a table is about $350. Then add about $100 in cables and interconnects.
If your entire budget is $200-300 for an entire system, I don't know of any gear that can meet that range.
There is a poster here, SUB, that plays with vintage gear--he might be able to recommend some things to look for on eBay or other such places. As I said before, though, I don't recommend vintage to noobies as you kinda need to know a little about audio gear and electronics when you aquire a 30-40 year old piece of gear. Most aren't going to be "plug and play"--and if they are, they aren't going to be cheap as they have probably been restored already. If it is very inexpensive, it probably has never been restored, and thus will need a couple hundred dollars of work to get it back to its prime.
I have a good bit of vintage gear (McIntosh, Marantz, Fischer, Sansui, Dynaco, Hafler) but only started to buy them after I had a couple modern operating rigs. I got them as sort of a learning thing that I could restore in my free time.
But--that's not to say that you may just happen to get a killer deal from someone that just wants to get rid of paw-paw's old stereo gear for cheap--it happens.
Again, the poster SUB can probably help more with this.
If you can get your budget up to $1400, I can suggest a couple options for a complete entry level audio rig with analog.

Friday afternoon hip-hop...
Jay-Z "The Blueprint", 2001
Gotta love the soulful beats and samples on this one. This is what I call a classic.

A shall open myself up for shaming with my first post here. Drooling over the great setups in this thread. Longtime (lurker) first time (poster).
My modest collection/dead corner ;)
*not pictured a JAMO250 sub & me!
*I hate the speakers sitting on the same cabinet too, but just don't have stands yet. But the cabinet is so solid the vibration isn't a problem, at least to my ears. And the speakers are "toed" in like that because they are angled towards a chair I sit in. Was trying to center myself to the sound. (I don't know the correct terminology for what I just said) :)

That's kind of the around about way I wound up here, searching for suggestions and user info. You guys have been lots help and you didn't even know it ;)

Enoch Light Presents Spaced Out. I have a bunch of these "bachelor pad" records and this is probably my favorite. The production and arrangements are incredible. All Beatles, Bacharach and J.S. Bach songs, with (the electric) Dick Hyman on Moog and uncredited vocals from The Free Design. This kind of stuff really is a lost art.

On now...
Grateful Dead--"Dick's Picks vol. 23"...Baltimore Civic Center, Baltimore, MD 9/17/72
3 CDs, HDCD, Rhino Records, 2004.
I give this one a 6/10...as par for the course, from '72-'78, Donna Jean just finds a way to insert her hackling and screeching right when the band peaks during jam time. Unfortunately, this show is one she leaves her mark on.

She ruined so many great songs with her caterwauling.

THIS may interest you. Mr. Pickering just died 6 months ago at 99 years of age.
I did know that, but thanks all the same . I'm a huge fan of Pickering cartridges, on a nice Jazz album they are tough to beat. I'm pretty protective of this 3000 since the styli are unobtanium, but I have the little sister too which doesn't sound bad either.

Nice...yeah, the styli (D3000) are no more. Even rebadged replacements are hard to come by.

I was pretty lucky on both of those; the XSD was on my TD-160 when I bought it, and the XV-15 was on a PL-516 I gave a dude $10 for.

Starting my day with some live CRB on this fine Saturday morning :) Then up next I'm going to enjoy a few LP's by the wonderful band Karate (Geoff Farina).
Posted on 5/7/16 at 2:43 pm to GRATEFULBENGAL
Now to some jazzy/indie/alt goodness via Karate. 4 of my favs of theirs to take me into the evening.

Just gave this a spin for the first time. First album I've bought in a while without really knowing the band/album; had only heard a song or two.
Great album.
