I have a CR3a and a SR4a integrated amp/receiver. I used to lust over the Dragon.

Dragon...auto azimuth, manual bias, auto reverse--production began in 1983.

CR-7A...manual azimuth, auto bias, no reversing--production began in 1986.

They both use the same heads, capstans, and motors.

There are tape heads in both camps as to which one is King--they are both stellar.

I happened to find mine recently by accident through a business connection--original owner lives just a few miles from me--it is cosmetically mint, but it is being shipped off to a Nak specialist in September for a complete overhaul as it is 30 years old and it's innards need it.

Enjoying so far, nice soundtrack to Pyrenees section of TDF, probably would have never bought for myself.

The Dear Hunter
Color Spectrum - Blue EP

Looking at the picture, I see that the maid moved my turntable. I should just tell her I'll keep that area clean myself.

Not a big fan of country, but I respect this cat as an artist.

Picked up some vinyl recently. Some new, some old.... Got the amp heating up now..

Rick Wakeman-Journey to the Center of the Earth. Sweet Thunder half speed master. Edition 1 of only 11 albums remastered. Original release 1974-remastered 1981.

True Believers-same. Alejandro Escovedo, etc...1986

Ella at Duke's Place. 1965. Verve 4070 cut corner gatefold. Very clean album. All the big boys are on here-Procope, Gonzalves, Hodges, Bellson,....

Klaatu-Klaatu.

front cover

back.

"They named themselves after the extraterrestrial character Klaatu in the film The Day the Earth Stood Still."

Original title is "3:47 EST"-Canadian version where they hailed from. Their first album, 3:47 EST (named Klaatu in the US as Capitol Records' executives found the original title too obscure). (BTW, if anyone has a copy please let me know).

Yep like maybe 2% of America knew WTF a "Klaatu" was....

The back cover is a cool as the front.

The New Pornograpers-Whiteout Conditions.
As usual the AC Newman tunes with Neko Case rock. Saw them in concert a few weeks ago. Very professional-pretty much just get up and play without any messing around.

Beatles-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
New remaster. Elegant....

Mike Oldfield-Return to Ommadawn. 2017
Haven't broken it open yet.

Look Park. Fountains of Wayne's Chris Collingwood. 2016.
Haven't broken it open yet.

Calexico-Edge of the Sun. 2015
A bit late on this one but as usual total excellence from this band.

Real Estate: In Mind- 2017
Haven't cracked it open yet...

Offa Rex-The Queen of Hearts.
Decemberists + Olivia Chaney
Just arrived today.

Good to see you here again.

The pics below are from today...the brick masons came out and added a couple 7 foot solid pane windows while taking a smaller 3x3 foot window out (was between the 2 new larger ones). The guys are still outside laying brick right now...hopefully they will have enough daylight to finish tonight!

The can lights are in the ceiling and working (the casings for the cans and final bulbs aren't in as I don't want them to get ruined in construction). Almost all of the electrical is done and I should have the guys from Uptown Audio in Metairie out this week to install all the Control4 automation wiring and outlets.

After that--probably next week, I should begin the sheet rock phase.

The 2 windows in this pic are newly added...

And the can lights (without their innards)...

Getting there...slowly, but the brick guys were the hold up for 3 weeks (I had to fire 2 others).
