I have a Yamaha A-S500 integrated amp coming for Christmas. I've heard great things about it and it's not too pricey. Excited to hook it up!

That's a good receiver, almost got one myself. I like the look of the plain black receivers that Yamaha has

Yeah, it looks really cool. I think I'm gonna hook up my old Pioneer SX-434 receiver up to it to use as a tuner. The right channel is messed up so I can't use it as a receiver on it's own. But it looks so cool, I figured I might as well display it somehow.

FYI I saw on Instagram that U Turn Audio is about to release a cue lever for their turntable (eliminating the use of a human hand to place the needle on the record) and they are even in the prelim stages of developing a phono pre amp. No word on a timeline for that tho

I love that they are going back to a more classic look. I had a CR-640. What a great sounding receiver.

absolutely agree. I just wish they offered them in silver as well.

and if some of these modern companies had a vintage styled line of nice simple 2 way receivers with a phono stage they would absolutely kill it in terms of orders I think. as far as I know Yamaha is the only one kind of doing it.

I was thinking that exact same thing when I was browsing for my receiver, the silver look is my favorite

Had this spinning last night

The opening track, Hurricane, always just made me think of that scene in dazed and confused but I must say that it is a solid track and sounds incredible on vinyl. It's obviously a political statement(and a damned effective one)but I would put its phrasing and lyrical command against any of the current great rhymers.

It's been said before but Dylan was in many ways the first hip hop artist

Oh man, I can't tell you how many times I've almost pulled the trigger on the 70's era Yamaha CR1020. It's such a simple and gorgeous design. I love it, and it's fairly inexpensive and sounds pretty damn good too.

These came in yesterday:

The screen print card is from Third Man Record's cyber Monday roulette; it came with my vinyl.

I found one at a city-wide garage sale a year ago. It was in pretty good condition and just needed to be cleaned. I think I bought it for $75 then sold it the next day for $250.

Cartridge/needle, and vinyl care are key - make sure you have good cleaning products.

Can't believe with that list you don't like Eagles Greatest Hits - try Hotel California.

I dunno I have just really grown out of the Eagles over the years. All Big Lebowski references aside, I just find them bland now, maybe because they are played so damn much.

That Jack White album was made to be played on vinyl and it's so damn good. Google the YouTube video of him examining all the hidden things and tricks with the album

That's pretty much the reason I bought it was for the niche value; I need to give it another listen but wasn't too impressed on first run through.

I also got this for $14 shipped on Cyber Monday through Third Man, haha.
