Never really got into Willie Nelson. I like a few of his songs and appreciate his writing, but just don't really care for him as an artists and I'm a big fan of country music from that genre.

Cowboy Junkies
I love some of their songs but listening to whole albums just gets depressing. It's been a while, though so maybe it's time to give it another shot.
And Townes Van Zandt doing his own songs. Incredible song writer but I don't enjoy his vocals.

Dating myself here, but it would have to be Pink Floyd. I tried to get into their music and appreciate it, but never could do so. Probably had something to do with the fact that I wasn't a stoner. My brother was and loved their stuff. Guess I never gained the proper "perspective" before listening to their music.

No offense, but I HATE this line of thinking. The attitude that it helps to be a stoner or on heavy drugs to like bands like Pink Floyd, WSP, Phish, etc. I'm a social drinker who doesn't get stoned or do drugs at all and I like PF and WSP. Never could get into the Grateful Dead though.
Pink Floyd is one of those bands that if you search beyond the signature songs that are overplayed on the radio you find out just how brilliant and beautiful their music is.

No reason anyone should be expected to like a musical genre; especially a niche genre.
