Artists whom music you should like, but you just can't seem to enjoy

For me, it's Childish Gambino. Reading his lyrics, the guy has great lyrics. But I just cannot enjoy his music because of his flow/voice/and production on his beats. Which is sad, because I really like the lyrics to his songs.

Widespread Panic. I feel like everyone likes them but they are horrrible. The I cannot stand the lead singers voice and the drum beats are so vanilla.

He's one of my favorites, what work have you listened to from him? Have you listened to anything from Royalty? I dont think it's his best stuff but he does sound a little different than he did on Camp.

I feel the same way. I have a similar reaction to the Shins. They both make quality music, but they're too wordy for me. I'm not advocating that artist put less thought into their lyrics, but I feel they suffer from word clutter that can make their songs too busy.
