Anybody else caught this on SHO? It's nostalgic and fun with a bittersweet third act on how the industry blew it with Napster. The affable founder, Ross Solomon is the focus, but the director (Tom Hank's kid, Colin) does a nice job letting other people that worked their way up from shipping and cashier tell the story.

And apparently - like Tom Waits - they're still big in Japan.

I thought this was a thread about the great George Harrison album from 1970.

As a teenager every trip into San Francisco included a stop at Tower Records at the intersection of Columbus and Bay. No other record store came close to their variety of inventory, and their prices were lower than local shops.

i spent a ton of $$ at the tower in NOLA. LA didn't really have good record shops, at least compared to Dallas where I grew up.

for the link

I used go to Tower Nashville constantly and had been to the NYC and LA ones a few times. The other random one I remember hitting was the Honolulu store.

I've been sitting on this thread to remind me. Just set it to record. It's not too late to catch it.

Thanks for the tip.
