ACDC's first show with Axl handling vocals took place Saturday night in Libson Portugal. The Gaurdian gave it 5 stars and all the other reviews I've read are pretty much in agreement that Axl knocked it out of the park. I posted some of the better videos I could find. His voice is sounds great.

I saw Peggy Lee do that in Vegas back in the day.
Sit in a chair the whole concert, I mean - not sing AC/DC.
But she was like 90 years old.

His voice fits and works fine, but this sitting in the chair is lame and hampers the show. I don't know the history of the planning for this tour, but couldn't they have waited until his foot healed? I'm guessing the details were all worked out prior to him breaking it. It's unfortunate.

Eddie Van Halen should contact Axl about fronting for Van Halen from a chair. It would satisfy Eddie's desire to be the focus of the act instead of the lead singer. I have no problem with musicians performing sitting down, or without stage theatrics. I would imagine that Angus was the focus of the performance, and that is just fine since the act was AC/DC.

That made me laugh

It really all depends. Axl sitting down doesn't work for me. Really that goes for any rock show. Ben Harper plays his slide sitting down for a large majority of his shows, and he is great doing it. It is all situational

He sounds good.

Singing the whole thing from a chair is ridiculous and ruins it.

I think he will be out of the chair soon. When he did the GnR shows he was on crutches, but a few clips show him putting weight on it and starting to move around without them. I'm hoping he sounds this good when the GnR summer tour takes place.

The guy has a broken foot and the tour dates were scheduled well before the need to hire Axl.

Broken foot or no, it made too much sense for ACDC to do it anyway. People who may have sold their tickets off once it was known Brian Johnson was out didn't due to the novelty of Axl fronting the band.

Axl hasn't sounded this good in a long long time, and it's because he's sitting and not out of breath from running around everywhere.
