I could list a ton of Grateful Dead songs that are covers, but I'll spare you with just one:

El Paso

Bob Weir kills it on vocals for that song.

I almost like their Mama Tried better than Merle, but... only almost.

I will not go so far as saying it's better, but Swans version of Love Will Tear Us Apart deserves a listen or three.

yeah, I could post so many covers that are great interpretations, but better would be arguable... just different.

However, I decided to spare myself of all the "GTFOs"

when it comes to covers (recorded), I just like it to deviate from the original... I dont mind so much live, if its in the moment and fun...

I think it's particularly great when a good cover comes from a crap song. Some of the Dylan covers have me wondering how the cover artist ever saw anything there to begin with. Some.
