Also, I feel like longevity helps me pick some shows too. For example, Chappelle Show is another good call, and is definitely one of the most consistently funny shows I've ever watched. But I feel like in my mind the fact that there were really only two seasons (and a VERY mailed in third) hurts it a bit.

I think rewatchability plays into more than anything else.

Sports Night may have only been two seasons long, but I can watch it any time. never gets old. Literally.

I need to pick this up on DVD. I haven't seen it in a long time.

yeah, because when i look at my favorite shows, I would ask, could I take the entire collection and be happy with every season? Regardless of how short it was, I could absolutely say this about Chapelle Show.

I'm the only one to list it, but I was serious about the OC. I liked the first 2 seasons (Seth Cohen ftw), but those last 2 are unwatchable. Kinda like Heroes.

In no order:

The Wire
Breaking Bad
Arrested Development (minus dogshit season 4)
Community (again, minus dogshit season 4)
Freaks & Geeks
Chappelle's Show
Scrubs

I'm 25. My method of selecting was to basically ask myself what shows I've watched multiple times from start to finish. Guess I like comedies more than I realized.

I'm 22 and really don't watch a ton of TV. Don't hate on my lesser choices because they're mostly because there's very few series I've watched end to end.

1) Breaking Bad
2) Game of Thrones
3) Arrested Development
4) South Park
5) Walking Dead

Really struggling to come up with shows here...

6) Parks and Rec
7) CSI Miami

ETA: These are listed in no particular order. I'm 20 and have watched most of these completely after they aired (all of Scrubs and AD, and just about every season except for the last one or two of the others)

-Game of Thrones
-Arrested Development
-The Office
-Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives
-Love it or List it
-Entourage
-How I Met Your Mother (I guess, just cause it's prob the longest show I've watched every episode of and considering its early greatnest)
