Haven't watched an episode since it was live. I think I quit watching after Mulder left. I remember seeing an episode or two with Robert Patrick.
Will I be disappointed in a rewatch? I loved this show on its original run. And yes, I did enjoy Fringe.

Seasons 3-5 are still great.

I remember some specific episodes that were awesome. Can't think of seasons that stand out. Pre-DVR TV watching made that more difficult I guess.

Monster of the week was some great TV, the government conspiracy not so much. I own every season on DVD.

The continuity seemed pretty sporadic if I remember right. I agree the stand alone plots were much more interesting.

I binged watched it about 2-3 years ago after having watched just a few episodes live. I actually looked forward to the conspiracy episodes more but loved monster of the week. I think my some of my favorite episodes where the comedic ones. One with circus freaks stood out.

It was awesome. Not as much a fan of the story arc.

i remember my dad watching this when I was a kid and then being pretty creepy. Just finished sopranos and my roommate and I started this up. First 2 were good (lol at Seth green ep 2). Are the majority of them about aliens?

60/40.... but some of the Aliens eps aren't part of the supposed Main Story Arc.
Well worth a rewatch. I actually liked quite a few of the non-MainStoryArc ones from the last 2 or 3 seasons.

It is a great show and holds up pretty well. Season One is a bit hit or miss. There are some really good episodes (Pilot, Deep Throat, Squeeze, Ice, Beyond the Sea, Erlenmeyer Flask). There are also some stinkers (Jersey Devil, Space, Gender Bender). Watch a handful of the good ones and see if you like it. Maybe skip a few of the bad ones.
Season two is mostly good, then it goes on a fantastic run four about four years of fantastic episodes. I have watched the first six seasons multiple times. I should rewatch the Post-Mulder era eps again and see how they are. I was very unimpressed at the time, but maybe now I would be more forgiving.
A lot of the Monster of the Week eps are classics and definitely worth a watch. Without giving too much away, the mytholgy arc starts well but **Mild Spoilers** does not resolve well, which made it frustrating for someone like me who was a really big fan.
