I watched "American Werewolf in London" today (first time in many years) and realized Rik Mayall was the chess player in the pub scene.

He is best known for "Drop Dead Fred" and "The Young Ones"

No - that was Donelly Rhodes.

He is probably most famous to American audiences as Dutch in the 70s sitcom Soap. I think Sam Elliott played one of the card players, though.

Watched The Raiders of the Lost Ark last night on Amazon Prime. Which is tied to IMDB and allows you to see what actors are in each scene. There were quite a few but the ones that stood out were

Sallah

Same actor as Gimli in LOTR

Alfred Molina played this guy

And also Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2

And William Hootkins appeared

Who of course is Porkins

I'm on my phone and don't know how to post pics but I watched that stupid movie The Comebacks and Bradley Cooper had a small role in it and I think one speaking part. He was one of the townspeople that talked like Boomhauer. He may have had only 2 or 3 scenes but I was shocked. As long as this thread is it's probably been mentioned.

I saw one the other night that the Janice from sopranos thread reminded me of. Janice Soprano had a bit part in What About Bob? as the hooker that Bob got on the phone to pretend she was Dreyfuss' sister.

I've seen El Dorado many times but just the other day realized that Mississippi was James Kaan. I wouldn't have realized it was him either if I wasn't looking up the cast to see if McCleod was Willem Dafoe(he wasn't).

He's in quite a few of them. First episode he's the guy who's canteen ran out when Sobel had them dump it after the march. I'd have to watch them again, but I know specifically he's in Breaking Point and Why We Fight.

Yep. He shows up in Why We Fight as well. His first scene you get to see his arse.
