It was Tobey Maguire (not Elijah Wood as someone else mentioned). Also, in addition to Maguire, Christian Slater, and Beau Bridges (Jeff's brother, the girl who goes off with Fred Savage and his brother in the Wizard is Jenny Lewis. She is the lead singer for Rilo Kiley.
