Gets hated on because it won best picture. And I agree that it shouldnt have won... but its a very enjoyable movie.

Forgot about Quiz Show. I'm trying my hardest not to edit my post.

Yeah, I agree. The backlash is tiresome. I feel that hindsight will increase its quality once everyone gets over the politics of the decision. There's some exquisite montage action in that movie.

Well said. I was going to leave the Pulp Fiction thing alone. Personally for me, it changed a lot about how I felt about movies when I saw it as a kid. I watched Jackie Brown and enjoyed it, but the film is not nearly as groundbreaking or powerful. I view Jackie Brown as the generic Tarantino film. Out of all the films that he has written, counting True Romance and Natural Born Killers, Jackie Brown has the least complex plot and character development. It is a simple heist movie that was pulled off extremely well. That is all. I don't have a problem with anyone liking it over Pulp Fiction.

Getting a little ahead of myself, I feel like my 80s list is going to be a lot easier to make. I have a clear cut #1 and the movies that stand out really stand out for me.

One more vote and it should make it.

I thought you hated this movie and it was 2000's anyway?
Freauxzen seems to be confused about a couple of movies on his list.

As you can see he put that Will Ferrell soccer movie Kicking and Screaming on there and that was in 2005! Not even close.

OK, I'm done. I really need to stop waffling and get my list together...

He's talking about the David Cronenberg Crash from 1996. Good movie.

oh wow, just looked this up. I love the J.G. Ballard novel that the movie was adapted from, but I've never seen the film version. I'll have to check it out soon.

There was a popular 80's club tune based on the novel.

Warm Leatherette

Here's Trent reznor and Peter Murphy doing their version:

made my final 50+, probably would have made my 2000's list, just too many good movies in the 90's for me to rank it, but its worthy of top 100.

Freauxen,

I felt it was necessary to bring this to your attention...because I know things about movies.

To ease complications down the road, please note that 'Leon' may also be called 'The Professional'. Also, 'Hard Eight' may be called 'Sydney'.

I will let you know if I can think of more movies with aliases.

You're very welcome,
Pectus

I put in mine that Braindead may and was called Dead-Alive, not that it will make the final cut as much as I want it to.

Hey Freauxzen, Rules Question:

How are we treating sequels in this one? Is it like the last thread where sequels are combined into one entry?

I think if the sequels were all in the 90's then it is combined. But T2 for instance would stand by itself since Terminator was in the 80's.

What movies are you looking at?
