Disagree on "Contact". I liked the ending because Jodie Foster's character got a taste of her own medicine--everyone laughed at her the same way she laughed at religious people.

Didn't like the sad ending of Blue Lagoon (although there are two different endings).

In the first, I got all emotionally invested in the main character and they decided to kill him at the end. Bad guy wins and love interest falls apart. Unhappy.

First, he doesn't die at the end, way before that second the movie is awesome for the shock of that happening when it happens, third the movie is awesome.

Well he did take a shotgun blast to the head and it wasn't a flesh wound. And it's pretty much the end in spite of John Pankow following Willem Dafow and killing him (it was sort of a coda or epilogue).

Sphere, what a copout

In the book, Norman learns how to control the power, so the choice is a lot more difficult. Also, they don't just forget, everyone forgets, not just the three of them. The Navy is in on it too.

And for the guy that said Contact, what were you expecting? I though it was a great ending written by a scientist that had a lot of experience dealing with the government. Sagan was a big proponent of sharing discoveries with the masses, much like Ellie was in the movie. Of something like that happened, and the government saw an opportunity to take control of it and take it away from the people, don't you think they would?

I liked the ending. Underrated movie, IMO.

If Roaad's avatar is correct, then A League of their Own is the worst ending ever.

MC actually makes it a little ambiguous there at the end. 2 of the survivors use their powers to forget and erase what all the Navy knows while its hinted the woman played by Sharon Stone in the movie possibly keeps the powers for herself.

at least thats how I remember it. I read it a long time ago so I could be off.

Quantum of Solace is the correct answer for a blockbuster.

Writers strike. Ending written by cast members, et al.

Boom goes the desert.

WTF.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but the ending of The Searchers was completely out of character for Ethan Edwards.

I'm still very disappointed that Matrix Revolutions ins't getting more run here.

So after generations of fighting they all just decided to live together as one big happy family?!? Seriously! frick that!
