Great to hear. Very envious of the early viewing! I'm glad we finally have a real life opinion. Just hoping for an exciting movie!

Marvel Comics is getting a ton of backlash from pissed off fans. Supposingly MC has been in damage control since Cap turn Hydra and sales have plummeted. Part of the problem is an American Icon created by two Jewish guys is now pretty much a Nazi. Their other problem is timing, as in the Antifa deal going on. I think it came to a head last month when Marvel sent out Hydra tee shirts to retailers asking them to wear them and push to sell them. Marvel was doing this thinking it would help, but it had the opposite effect.

I think next month they are bringing the "real" Steve Rogers back.

There is absolutely nothing Marvel Comics is trying to push right now that I am interested in. I buy some Disney reprint stuff for my 3 year old and that's about it. I'm tired of their PC garbage.

New clips from the film. Pine and Gadot really seem to do well together.

For everyone that's saying, "Look at all the high praise it's getting!" Do any of you worry that it's really only being highly praised in comparison to other DCEU films?

That's what sticks out to me the most. It could still be a wreck but be better than the previous efforts. I can tweet "OMG Police Academy 4 is the best Police Academy movie to date, the Police Academy movie we've all been waiting for! Steve Guttenberg IS Sgt. Carey Mahoney!" That doesn't mean Police Academy 4 is a good movie, just relative to the others. Saying "the best DCEU movie so far!" really isn't high praise because that's such a low bar...
Disclaimer: Any and all references in this post to any police academy properties were purely for illustrative purposes.

We're aware that most are comparing it to the previous three movies while a few are comparing it to other origin films and Captain America.

In spite of how much you enjoyed or didn't enjoy the previous movies, there are some of us that liked them. So your "low bar" isn't universally low.

yes, I have realized that. Even with the massive amount of exclamation points in my last post, I am still pessimistically optimistic about this movie... but the fact is, I went into SS with zero expectations, and actually came out pleasantly surprised. Not because the movie was "amazing" mind you, but because it was enjoyable and a good popcorn flick.

Example: Pacific Rim wasn't that great of a film, but I fricking loved it for what it was and I still want a sequel gdi. While BvS wasn't that great of a movie, and I really wish I hadn't spent money to see it... I don't feel that way about SS, same as Pacific Rim. WW looks to move that feeling towards the right direction - more than "just enjoyable" if that makes sense?

I have to say I'm really liking what I'm hearing about this. I like Wonder Woman and is probably my favorite female superhero. Hoping for the best and not fearing the worst for the first time in a while.

After watching some clips I am 100% convinced she can't act...that second clip is just atrocious.

After the disaster that was Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, I'll let a passable Wonder Woman slide.

I'm expecting Rocketeer levels of acting. Which, for me, bodes well.

So far it's just the additional footage online and not in the commercials or trailers. So I'd steer clear of those.

Forgive me for wanting my actors and actresses to be able to act. I wouldn't want a tattoo from a hot chick if she can't draw worth a shite.

I think you might be holding a blockbuster comic-book movie actress to a higher standard than the studio does.

Remember when everyone was pissed they picked Gal Gadot as WW because she was too skinny?

She didn't impress me at all in BvS, so the jury is still out on that.

To be fair she's no Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor and I think she's passable, but there are some women I would have chosen over her.

The first review of Wonder Woman is online. It's a video review from YouTube featuring a couple who haven't really cared for the DCEU thus far.

They ended up loving Wonder Woman.
