Warner Brothers has hired Patty Jenkins to replace Michelle Mclaren as Director for the 2017 release of Wonder Woman. I've seen Monster and thought it was great so that's a plus. All you can do is hope. She was initially hired to direct Thor 2 until she had creative differences and parted like McLaren. Who knows...McLaren may end up on Captain Marvel.

Marvel is very very specific with what they want and if you don't do what they want down to the T, you're through with them.

I heard an interview recently and they were talking about how Marvel sent a manual to cinematographers telling them what to do.

could you imagine how good WW would be with Joss directing it? empowered fantasy women is pretty much his thing.

Wasn't Natalie Portman pissed off when Marvel told Jenkins to shove off? I remember her being really angry, so angry that she would have quit the franchise had she not had a multi-movie deal with Marvel.

Nope. I wasn't thrilled with the choice at first, but somehow I have a feeling she will be good in the role. It may not be what people are expecting-but I think she has the personality to do the role justice. Could be entirely wrong.
The biggest rumors surrounding McLaren's departure are her clashes with Zach Snyder as to the setting of the first Wonder Woman film. Mclaren wanted WWI while Snyder wanted The Crimean War, Mclaren wanted a talking Tiger(already a fixture for Shazam) and WB said no(although communicating with animals is a WW power). Snyder is in charge of the franchise now, for better or worse. I'm looking forward to all of it.
