I'm not sure he's considered as a "good" actor. Easily he isn't terrible.

I'd say versatile is a better word.

First time I watched Pineapple Express I hated it.

Now I love the movie and have no clue why I hated it first time around

I guess I'll rewatch it. First impression was absolutely terrible. Barely made it through. And at the time I partaked (partook?) in the... well you know.

That was probably a little harsh. He very well could be a good actor; however, there isn't much evidence suggesting that he is one. And if there is such evidence, I haven't seen it.

As far as acting abilities go, I would put him on par with Seann William Scott.

Wow, I thought VOR went a little far with "here's another one whose uneducated opinion can be ignored from here on out."

But it looks like he was right.

Half the time it seems like he's just trying to get attention by being a "straight" guy doing gay roles

Wtf are you even talking about? This statement makes 0 sense. And to answer your question, Franco is a good actor. He has been in great roles, but he has had some bad roles too. But you can say that about a lot of actors, not just him. There's a very little number of actors that absolutely nails every role in every movie that they have been in.

First time I saw it I couldn't stand Danny McBride's character and thought he was forced. Now I love him.

Never seen him play a gay guy. He was great in 127 Hours and This is the End. He was funny in Pineapple Express. Thought he was average in Spider-Man 2. I don't think I've seem him in anything else. Seems a very likable, but a little off, guy.

I think Franco is a good comedic actor. I think he could stand to be in more comedies.

Kind of like I wish Matt Dillon would act in more comedies.

Franco is a very good actor.

Those saying otherwise don't know what they are talking about.

What is your criteria for "good." He plays good roles, is memorable, and often conveys strong emotion. I like him.

I also think that Brad Pitt is a very good actor.

Basically, I define "good actor" by people that I enjoy watching in movies. If I do not like to watch them, then I don't think they are good.

I still like to watch that movie every once in a while, he played a great drug addict. The movie was well scripted and had good characters but his performance made it awesome.

It's not really about being a great actor as it is about being a likable character for the roles he chooses.

I'm somewhat indifferent here.

Not a fan of his hippy comedic style of humor. He's not a terrible actor, but he wasn't worthy of such an early "Roast" on Comedy Central.
