My 2 favorite monsters by far were Godzilla and Lon Chaney jr's wolfman.

Godzilla 1954 and Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein are probably my 2 favorite all time monster movies.

Does Predator count as a monster movie? If so, then that. First one is still the best.

If not then probably the Alien. And I actually favor Aliens over the others.

I love werewolves. There haven't been too many good werewolf movies but werewolves are such awesome creatures on so many levels.

I'll go further...

Favorite overall monster is the Cloverfield 1 monster.

Scariest monster is a tie between the monster in The Thing and the monster in The Relic.

Most devastating monster if were real is the blob in The Blob.

Favorite monster movie is The Thing.

King Kong

Was obsessed with the 1933 version. Rode the bus and hour to get to the theater in 76.

Black Lagoon fraked me out something special too.

I'll also add mummies. All that ancient Egyptian stuff is so cool to me and we have only had 3-5 movies involving mummies but I think there's a ton of character.

My first was Godzilla, then the Werewolf but after I saw The Creature from the Black Lagoon it has always stuck with me.

A few years ago, I bought the Legacy Collection:
Creature From the Black Lagoon
Revenge of the Creature
The Creature Walks Among Us

We loved all of the Godzilla/Japanese robot movies when I was a kid. They always came to the local theater even though it was the late 70's/80's. Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster was probably my favorite Godzilla movie. My favorite robot movie (which counts because it has monsters in it) is Inframan.

Agreed. What I liked best about the universal interpretation of the wolf man was the duality of Lawrence talbot and the werewolf. His pain and hatred of himself made the character so much more interesting then all the other werewolf characters throughout the years. Sure there have been cool werewolf movies since, but never a character like Larry talbot
