Saw this last night and was pleasantly surprised. Fey gives her best performance, and surprisingly many LOL moments. Based on a true story but I haven't read about the real Kim Baker.

Wondering if Kabul was really such a party scene with the press corps.

Looked decent in the trailer. Cringed when Robbie's character said, "either we go BIG, or we go home".

Going to see it this afternoon. Went to Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb for reviews. One dumbass on IMDb gave it one star because the word "Foxtrot" stands for a naughty word. He summarized:

I don't know about party scene, but war correspondents have always been infamously drunks.

I saw Tina Fey in an interview last week say they for those reporters it was very intense and when they got the chance to let loose they partied hard. She really emphasized that after she met the real Kim Baker that's what she came away thinking. She said Baker told her 3 months turned into 3 years as she got addicted to the adrenaline and partying.

Just got back from the Sunday matinee - well worth the seven and half dollars. As the poster above noted, it's more of a drama than a comedy.

Well it's military code obviously for WTF so they aren't totally wrong. Also foxtrot means frick and Charlie foxtrot means clusterfrick but that's a really stupid reason to give the film a one star review.

I want to see it soon, but I want to see the Witch first.

My point was that some dumbass who obviously hadn't even seen the movie gave it one star just because of the title.

Just finished watching. Too bad that more people didn't see this movie. Not bad at all. Really good writing, no lulls anywhere in the movie, good sub-plots and lots of OO-RA! moments. A thoroughly satisfying movie that bridges the gap well between a chick flick story and a war story. Recommended.

I saw it this weekend. I think it's better than "not meh". Margot Robbie is so fine. I had to double check but the guy playing Fey's love interest is the guy from the Fargo series, Martin Freemin, and he plays the part well of an Aussie security contractor. At least I think he's an Aussie.

Anyway, it was a decent movie and it kept me pretty entertained. It's not a comedy, it's not war movie, but it's kind of half of one and half the other and it works.

The Marines giving her shite for taking a piss made me lol.

I thought it was pretty "meh." At least from a purely entertaining standpoint. It was all right.
