Electric Dreams made in 1984.
Premise was a SF dude bought an AI automated home system. It developed consciousness and became obsessed with the owner's hot neighbor. Both fall in love with her. Comedy-drama.
Seems relevant now. Could make it a comedy horror.
Already done by The Simpsons in classic Treehouse of Horror episode "Ultrahouse" starring Pierce Brosnan as the house.

No movie deserves to be remade in current times.

I've never seen Dark Tower, but I know it's bad. That should be remade as an HBO series not a single movie.
Mike Flanagan, the guy that created Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and House of Usher, has the rights to Dark Tower. His plan is 5 seasons of a show and 2 movies. It’s not in production yet.

Forbidden Planet was good for its time, but it would be interesting to see a 21st century remake.

Speed Kills with Travolta. A true story Link to story of the murder of a cartel-linked powerboat legend in Miami. It has all the makings of a good movie with a crazy murder that has never really been solved. Links to hte mob, drug cartels, fast cars, good looking women, George HW Bush, etc... would be a killer Bruckheimer-Simpson movie.
Somehow Travolta got roped into it and was strictly mediocre if not bad.

Disney+ is doing a series. Paolini is involved with it.

Law Abiding Citizen - don't remake it, just reshoot the ending

Todd McFarland is too difficult to deal with.

I’ll go with Dick Tracy.

Yes. Crichton’s books almost all had bad adaptations besides Jurassic… sad really being that his books are incredible.

Timeline was the worst movie adaptation ever, except for maybe Eragon.

The Thomas Crown Affair was a great remake. Just like Oceans 11... original was good but the remake was better.
