Which do you prefer, all the episodes at once or one a week?

With Netflix's model being to dump all the episodes at once so people can binge watch instead of dragging out a season over a few months.
Each method has its merits.
With the dump and binge method there is a certain time efficiency where you get it all in. It's a parallel to the changes in society with our instant access to everything in the internet information age.
You get the flash, the avalanche of interest, all the things that come with a viral sensation but then it all goes away as there's nothing left to feed the fire.
The thread here on Maing a Murderer has ground to a halt leading others to think it's not been discussed.
Releasing an episode a week can be a long ardous task and tough to keep consumers on the hook wanting and demanding more. However, the slow burn gives time for people to discuss at work, w/ friends and everyone is one the same timeline with the story arc. No "oh just wait until episode 7", when you're only on #3. That takes away something from the social interaction that everyone enjoyed 30 years ago.
It was hard for me to watch all of Making a Murderer in a week. I gave up a lot of sleep to do it, not sure I'd do that again though. I have a buddy that only watches tv shows when he can buy complete seasons on DVD. I don't get it. Which do you guys like best?

I like streting it out a bit to digest each episode.

I think it depends on the type of show it is. A show like Rick and Morty, or a sitcom, I want to binge watch but if it's something like Breaking Bad or Lost I felt like the discussion about what was going to happen was a huge part of the show. When LOST was still on my roommates and I would watch it live, while DVRing it, think about it for a couple of days, then rewatch it on Sundays, and then talk about what we really thought was going on/going to happen.

The idea that viewers can just "binge" watch television whenever they want is disgusting. This country becomes more entitled by the day and I weep for our future.

I really enjoy looking forward to Game of Thrones every week. My friend and I would get together and cook a themed meal and drink Game of Thrones beer.
Really awesome fun and the highlight of my week.

I prefer binging or watching at my own leisure, not having to wait for it

Wait a week. I can't stand to sit still and binge watch.

Serial type shows that can be tough to follow if you miss an episode or forget details in between I prefer to "binge". Like Lost or Fringe.
I could go a little while between episodes of Star Trek

For board discussion, once a week is best. But..... instant gratification also has its benefits.

All at once. Keeps the story fresh. I'm binging Mad Men as we speak.

Hybrid.
Last 3-4 eps of a season are usually most important. So I binge at final fifth ep. Catch ep 4 up to finale live.

Depends on the show.
A show like breaking bad or the wire I cannot binge watch. The episodes are full and intense and they benefit from being a week apart. I honestly don't know if I would have ever finished breaking bad if it was released entire seasons at a time. It's fun to make an event once a week out of it.
Super hero content and sitcoms can be binged easily and I like the entire season format very much
