I haven’t watched it but heard about this infamous scene. Did they use a sharp blade at least?

Nope. It took some hacking and sawing. And the sounds....

Watched this for the first time last night. Great movie.
I know that they were just fictional troglodyte Indians, but the brutality of their killings/assaults seemed pretty accurate to what many tribes did to their enemies back then. It might come across as gore porn, but humans really did that kind of stuff to other humans back then.

Thoroughly enjoyed Bone Tomahawk. Everyone in it is clearly having a great time with the material, and Matthew Fox's character is straight cold-blooded.
Yep, he’s who you want in a pinch

I totally failed to realize that is who that was. Definitely my favorite performance of his.

His dialogue was great.

Turned it off. Not a big gore fan. Thought it was a western and was like WTF

I've liked all of Zahler's movies (Bone Tomahawk, Brawl at Cell Block 99, Dragged Across Concrete)

Meh. I don't think it was a great Western movie. It was entertaining though.

IIRC this is about where I fell on it too.
It was good enough and I was entertained, but outside of the intense scenes in the caves, it's fairly forgettable since I don't really remember much else about it (except for the little whistle things made from bones).

I've not seen it but it's on my list of movies to watch eventually. Need to avoid spoilers.
I did see an S. Craig Zahler film a few weeks ago called Brawl in Cell Block 99. What a fantastic movie.

Think it was the start of “the scene” when they jammed the rock in the dudes mouth. Was watching it late and had nodded off for about 5-10 mins then woke up to that and was like frick this I’m out

that scene is about 90% of the way through the movie
