Michael Jackson "This is It," for two reasons:
1)Watching all that great music in awesome surround sound

2)All of the people sitting around me were hysterically crying/talking to MJ for most of the movie

Came here to post this. I've never seen it in theater but I would pay good money to see this on the big screen. Another movie I'd like to see is Half Baked in a packed theater. Tough to beat a good stoner movie on the big screen.

Some scenes aren't very clear on a nice TV and the sound would be great.

Once Upon a Time in the West
The Wild Bunch
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Cowboys
The Professionals
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Apocalypse Now
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Patton
Full Metal Jacket
Black Hawk Down
The Guns of Navarone
The Big Red One
Von Ryan's Express
Apocalypto
T2
The Matrix
The Road Warrior
Sin City
Desperado

Too late to worry about any more.

If I could re-create the initial experience where we only had a few opaque ads with some cool effects shots but no one knew the plot-- the Matrix. That was freaking mindblowing when I saw it on the week it was released.

On the Blade Runner issue - BFI got the "Final Cut" (the definitive edition, IMHO, much more so than even the mislabled "director's" cut) into theaters last year - so, I'm hoping there is a similar move this year or next in the U.S. Even if I had to drive to Houston, I would consider that a worthwhile experience - after all - it is my favorite film.

My wife and I were talking about how much money Disney would make if every six months they rereleased one of their classics in the theaters (a summer and holiday release). It is only out for two weeks then goes back inti rotation. That would be two a year, even if they only did their top 20 films it would still mean if you missed it, it would be ten years before you could see it again. Some of them would be huge events plus it keeps future generations hooked on the brand because seeing these films in theater becomes a family tradition. Disney is evil enough to realistically do this.

I've always said that I would love to open a high end theater with only about 30 to 40 seats per showing that shows old school movies. Have a bar in it and catered food each night.

I would love to sit down in a nice small theater and see the original Star Wars trilogy unmolested and the Back to the Future trilogy with a good group of friends.

There are a lot of movies that would be fantastic to see in a nice small theater again though.
