WE watched the Romeo and Juliet where you see boobs at school. A sub was showing it and didn't know. One of the guys noticed and kept rewinding the tape "back and to the left" style.

Yet it's core was still Hamlet. I did a presentation on this in a Shakespeare class as an undergrad student.

How has Throne of Blood gone unmentioned?
Seems like the obvious/only answer, IMO.
I'd like to see the new MacBeth.

We watched 1984 with a sub in high school.
When we saw Suzana Hamiltons gigantic forest of bush, the entire class turned to chaos. Some people were horrified, some people loved it.
The sub never noticed. She was reading her book during the movie and when the "incident happened, she just ignored it.

Throne of Blood, which is also my second favorite movie by my favorite director.

Ummmm....
Olivia Hussey was born in 1951.
That Romeo and Juliet came out in 1968.

West Side Story should get some love.
However, the best moment is probably the speech in Henry V followed by the tracking shot at the end of the battle.

Great scene. I could watch it over and over. And I love Carwood Lipton quoting it in Band of Brothers.

My favorite is probably Richard III 1955.
a close 2ed would be Henry V 1989.
Julius Caesar 1953 was good.
I liked The Merchant of Venice 2004, and Mel Gibson's Hamlet.
The Hollow Crown was very good.

The only one I can remember much is the '89 version of Henry V
Probably going to be the best "film" adaptation of any of the Bard's plays.
The flawed (yet brilliant) 1948 adaptation of Hamlet (Directed by and starring Olivier) - is probably going to get a lot of support here and it is excellent - probably the starting reference point for anyone filming any of the plays.
I would have liked to see a good modern adaptation of Caesar - HBO did a great job with the story itself, but the scope of the series was way bigger than the play.

The correct answer is Throne of Blood.
It's also one of the greatest movies of all time, so there's that.

And what would you like to see done with a good budget now?
I want to see a legit version of The Tempest. And an epic three part Henry V.

Let's stipulate that she was 15 when the "boobs" were filmed - but when someone first saw them, that person was 12 or 13 at the time - how old did that person have to be before it became creepy?
(Asking for a friend.)
