Honestly, I think we're at a point where any movie that doesn't force feed unrealistic diversity is a good 80's movie.

Is this question most over-the-top stereotype 80's movie or what movie realistically best captures the 80's IRL?
If IRL...
St. Elmo's Fire
The loud clothes, the look, the yuppie, Reaganomics, drugs, chasing money...the cheesy soundtrack. It has every young big 80's star in it except Tom Cruise.
It encapuslates the entire 80's...as the Times said, it sits between the too early for the 80's Big Chill and The Breakfast Club...

I haven't watched it in years, but for some reason Footloose came to mind.
ETA: I'd probably add Revenge Of The Nerds too, not just for some of the music, but also for the "they'd never get away with an ending like that today"-angle...
