When the screen went blank, Tony had taken a "pigmy thing in Jersey" and ended up beating one of the five families.

I re-watched the whole series a few months ago. My impression was that the series ends with Tony at the height of his powers. I don't think he died; I think he'd won.

I hope your version is correct. I'd hate to see that he was shot in front of his family.

This is the only show where my dad finished it and wanted nothing to do with it after. He was so pissed off at the finale.
