Because SM can kill aliens and shoot lasers out of his eyes, and BM is a human with a throwing star for a weapon.
I'm actually curious and asking out of ignorance since I didn't read the comics.

Batman uses kryptonite

That and he won't kill a human being if he can help it. Superman will be holding back while Batman will be giving all he has. Plus it's obvious from the clips we have seen that Batman hits him with something that weakens him and makes him temporarily mortal.

Actually, if you want to nerd out w/MOS defense, the proper retort would be that Zod was going to destroy the world completely while Loki merely wanted to rule it. Ergo the ends justified the means.

nah, those complaints are legit braheim.
all he had to do was at least try to take the fight outside Smallville and Metropolis. A very short scene where Zod and company started mashing towns to get him back would have alleviated that issue.
But nah, we needed more scenes of Supes fighting the CG Octo Claw World Engine thing in the Indian ocean.
