Lynch is weird as far as American directors go. He would be fairly tame by Japanese standards. Maybe even Korean too.

I can't remember the name, but I caught some weird early 90's movie on cable one night that starred Brendan Fraser and Ashley Judd. Brendan was a Christian and Ashley was a slut or something. It's been years since I've seen it, but I remember finding it odd.

The Passion of Darkly Noon.
Philip Ridley tries too hard. That's all I'm saying.

The fact he has at least 2 nominations on here (and I'll throw in Blue Velvet as pretty weird, too) - is it fair to say Lynch is the WOAT director?
Harmony Korine has 2, as well.

I took a date to see Antichrist, the Lars Von Trier film, at Prytania Theatre when it was released. Really weird flick.... spoilers below...
unless you're really into infant death, clitoris mutilation via scissors, Willem Defoe's junk shown up close, psychological torture and all thaaaaat.

I'm a fan of that genre, and I couldn't even make it through 5 minutes of that one.
The original Gingerdead Man with Gary Busey and Jack Frost were pretty ridiculous/funny.

Beat me to it. Too long, but beautifully trippy movie. And get the name right.
Add:
Kids
Bully
Irreversible (Memento with a 10 minute rape scene)
Holy Motors (WTF)
