Um . . . Fine movie, but picture of the year? I dunno.

The ending threw a lot of people off. The acting was absolutely superb.

This was my issue with it. If he would have been dead on the sidewalk it would have been a much better movie.

I liked it. Didn't think it was the best movie of the year. Could easily see why people saw it like that. It catered to the demographic. Hollywood LOVES movies about show business.

I'd put Birdman as #1 for last year's films. The ending was terrible though.
I've seen all nominees except for Selma and I turned off Theory after 40 minutes.
Whiplash is loved here, but it wasn't best picture IMO. Theory was a terrible nominee and Sniper has no business as best picture as well.
Birdman, Imitation, Boyhood, Grand Budapest, Whiplash all had cases. I liked Nightcrawler and Interstellar was well. Easily should have replaced Theory and Sniper.
That said, as has been stated, a movie about actors acting seems to have a no brainer leg up. I still think it was worthy though.
